Robust solutions for sustainable technologies
No matter whether it’s hydrogen, wind power or biomethane – we deliver compact, durable valve designs for stable processes in a changing energy landscape.

Tried-and-tested systems are coming up against new, dynamic technologies in power generation. The requirements for technical components are just as diverse. We assist you in applications such as wind power plants and biomethane treatment, as well as along the entire hydrogen value chain: With compact, durable valve solutions that work reliably even under challenging conditions. Especially in young markets, we help you with configuration and offer practical system solutions which can reduce technical complexity. As an experienced partner with a profound understanding of the industry, we combine robust technology with tailored advice – for reliable processes and predictable investments.
During biogas upgrading, the CO₂ is removed in a gas scrubber – either physically using water or chemically using absorption media like amines or Genosorb. As part of this, the medium undergoes absorption and regeneration processes to obtain a high-quality methane gas. Our valves fulfil important functions in this context:
Shut-off valves ensure that pumps and containers are reliably isolated and drained, while control valves precisely control the volumetric flow and temperature. This is how our solutions play a crucial part in an efficient and reliable gas scrubbing process.

PSA plants purify biogas through selective CO₂ adsorption in molecular sieves as a pressure swing takes place. While one container prepares the biomethane, the other one is regenerated. This means that the process runs continuously and is energy-efficient.
Our globe valves reliably master the frequent switching cycles, while butterfly valves or diaphragm valves make a bidirectional flow possible during pressure swings.

Gas purification with polymer membranes adopts the different permeation properties of the gases.
CO₂ and H₂ permeate through the membranes much more easily, and can thus be discharged. This produces high-purity biomethane.
Since membrane systems usually have multiple layers, different pressure ratings need to be taken into account when selecting valve designs. In addition to control valves, this procedure also includes many manual valves in the systems.

In wind power plants, valves fulfil key functions in gear lubrication. Gears have an oil circuit in which valves are used to isolate oil filters, storage tanks and distribution systems. Our valves ensure that these circuits can be monitored reliably, therefore contributing to the long-term safety and efficiency of the drive train.

During operation, the generators in wind power plants produce heat which must be discharged. This is where various valves come into play in the cooling water sector. Since wind power plants are installed locally, usually there is no compressed air available for pneumatic actuation. Our electrically controlled valves make precise temperature control possible while guaranteeing fully automatic operation for decades – even in offshore installations.

There is limited space for valves in compact plants. Our multi-port valve blocks combine multiple functions in one component, for example change-over between operation and regeneration, therefore significantly reducing the installation work.

Green hydrogen starts with high-quality water treatment. The right water quality is crucial for the efficiency and service life of electrolytic cells. We offer valves and measurement systems which reliably protect your installations against contamination and provide dependable sealing in hydrogen processes.

Hydrogen is currently used for industrial purposes today and is growing in importance as an energy source, as a raw material for e-fuels or for CO₂-free steel production. GEMÜ delivers electrically controlled globe valves and compact block valve solutions for precise gas flow control, space-saving installation and flexible integration – even in fuel cells and Power-to-X plants.

The advantages for you
Our valves and block solutions are designed for decades of operation, even under challenging conditions like offshore wind power plants. This is how we ensure that your plants operate reliably while requiring little maintenance.
Where there is no compressed air, our electrically controlled valve actuators precisely control your processes. With feedback and automation, they make fully continuous and safe operation possible.
Whether it’s compact container systems or complex offshore installations, we develop customized valve and block valve solutions which combine different functions, take up less space and are optimally tailored to your requirements.
Our experts support you in the configuration of valve designs for your plant. This is how we ensure that all of the components are perfectly tailored to your processes and operating conditions.
