Tried-and-tested valves and digital solutions
From industrial process water treatment and municipal waste water treatment through to digital plant monitoring: Our solutions bring reliability to water treatment processes.

The requirements in water treatment are complex – stable processes, reliable components and compliance with stringent standards. Whether it’s industrial process water treatment, municipal waste water treatment or digital plant monitoring, we support our customers in all areas of application with experience and technological expertise. From membrane processes and precise dosing right up to critical process steps involving corrosive medium – our valve designs ensure that your plants work safely, efficient and reliably in the long term.
During ion exchange, GEMÜ diaphragm valves ensure reliable change-over between operation and regeneration – even in space-saving compact installations where block valve solutions combine multiple functions in one component.
In microfiltration and ultra-filtration, our control valves can be relied on to precisely dose chemicals such as flocculants. Pneumatically actuated diverter valves enable fast backwashing, ensuring a consistently high filter performance.

Corrosion protection is crucial where saline water like sea water or waste water is treated using nanofiltration, reverse osmosis or other procedures. GEMÜ offers valves made from corrosion-resistant materials for this purpose – from high-grade plastic and coated metal through to special alloys. For ultra-pure water processes in industry, we deliver stainless steel and plastic versions that ensure ultimate hygiene and purity.

In biological wastewater treatment, our valves regulate both liquids and gases – for example, for energy-efficient aeration of activated sludge tanks. Specially coated deep-seated valves reliably handle abrasive media such as wastewater containing particles.
GEMÜ valves also ensure the process in sewage sludge treatment: they withstand aggressive concentrates with extreme pH values as well as high temperatures during drying and digestion.

In HVAC systems in industrial plants, cable paths are often long and precise flow control is important. GEMÜ globe valves and mixing systems ensure that hot and cold water is automatically set to the required outlet temperature. This means that energy is used efficiently and operation is controlled reliably.
When distributing ultra-pure process water in the pharmaceutical or foodstuff industry, it is essential to comply with hygiene-related regulations. For this purpose, GEMÜ offers a wide portfolio of hygienic valves with the corresponding approvals in order to reliably prevent contamination during transport.

From the waterworks to the consumer, drinking water networks must fulfil stringent legal standards while being efficient to operate. GEMÜ’s shut-off valves are approved for use with drinking water, require little maintenance and are designed for continuous operation due to high-quality sealing materials.
In the event of pipe breakages or maintenance work, our butterfly valves are able to close automatically. They can be operated both manually and automatically with pneumatic or motorized actuators to minimize water loss and damage.

A crucial prerequisite for digitalization is the reliable integration of sensors, actuators and valves into plant control systems. Only when data can be collection and transmitted directly at field level is it possible to monitor and control processes in real time.
This is why our valves are available with open interfaces such as IO-Link or AS-Interface, which enables them to be integrated into all common process networks regardless of the manufacturer. The signal transmission is also flexible: Alongside traditional analogue 4–20 mA technology, our solutions support many digital protocols to equip existing and new plants so that they are future-proof.

As water treatment plants become increasingly complex, there is growing demand for intelligent organization of operation and maintenance. There is often no up-to-date overview of the installed components, in particular after years of operation and numerous modifications.
With CONEXO, our asset lifecycle management platform, all valves can be logged electronically, clearly identified and documented in their current status at any time.
