Industrial parts cleaning requires customized plant designs. Machine and plant components are thoroughly treated before they re-enter the production process. Since each plant is individually tailored to the size, quantity and contamination of the parts to be cleaned, the valves used also vary greatly. The challenge is to be able to respond flexibly to different end user requirements without compromising the efficiency or quality of the cleaning process.

The cleaning processes use various acidic, alkaline or inert chemicals, sometimes in combination with mechanical methods such as ultrasound or stirring. Valves are in constant contact with the cleaning media and must be chemically resistant. Due to our wide range of materials, including corrosion-resistant plastics and metals, all common cleaning media can be handled reliably, ensuring that plants operate safely and without disruption.

Space-saving plants require intelligent valve solutions. Multi-port valve blocks reduce space requirements by combining several functions, such as switching between operation and regeneration, in a single component. Intelligent electrical position indicators and actuators enable precise monitoring and control of the cleaning processes. This allows plants to be automated efficiently while ensuring consistently high cleaning quality.

Industrial textile washing systems operate with large quantities of water and a variety of detergents. In order to save resources and comply with statutory requirements, used detergent solution is often treated and partially returned to the process. This reduces waste water volumes and protects the environment. Valves play a central role in the supply of water and the distribution and dosing of cleaning agents; they must be reliable and durable when operating in constant contact with various chemicals.

Every washing installation is designed according to the end user’s requirements, depending on the number and size of the textile items to be cleaned. The dimensioning of the valves depends directly on the system parameters. GEMÜ offers modular multi-port valve blocks and a wide range of materials, allowing components to be flexibly adapted for different detergents and pH ranges. Compact solutions also allow installation in confined spaces without compromising functionality or safety.

Waste water in large washing installations often contains lint or other particles that cause abrasive wear on valves. At the same time, the cleaning agents used have a chemical effect on the materials. GEMÜ valves made from abrasion-resistant materials and chemically resistant plastics or metal alloys ensure reliable operation in the long term. Butterfly and diaphragm valves enable safe handling of abrasive and corrosive media in dosing and recirculation processes, while modular subassemblies minimize installation effort.

Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) reliably separates gases according to their specific properties. Depending on the application, oxygen, nitrogen, biogas, hydrogen or methane are processed. The systems operate at different pressures ranging from vacuum to 40 bar and can reach temperatures above 100 °C during compressed air drying. GEMÜ valves enable precise control, ensure constant gas flows and guarantee process stability, even during rapid switching cycles of over 100,000 per year.

Many PSA systems are built as compact container solutions, which severely limits the installation space for valves and positioning elements. GEMÜ multi-port valve blocks combine important functions such as switching between operating and regeneration phases in a single component. This reduces the space required, simplifies installation and minimizes interfaces, while ensuring that the plant operates reliably.

Depending on the gas medium, different requirements apply for materials and explosion protection. For oxygen, tested materials must be used to prevent unwanted reactions. For combustible gases such as hydrogen or biogas, ATEX-certified valves and actuators are used. GEMÜ offers a wide range of chemically resistant and pressure-resistant materials as well as precise control valves to reliably dose gases and ensure safety in potentially explosive areas.
