General Description/Purpose:

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to build and oversee the relationships of the company with defined customer groups, major customers, and its most important clients. You will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining long term key customers by comprehending their requirements and optimizing the process and business results for these customers. The Key Account Manager will act in an interdisciplinary and supra-regional manner, detached from the standard day-to-day business.

 

Job Duties (Including but not limited to):

  • Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of major clients to ensure they do not turn to competition
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements especially in their Headquarters.
  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
  • Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner
  • Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
  • Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics
  • Coordinates the internal processes for the customer (interface function)
  • Leads contract negotiations/drafting for Global Agreements and Framework Agreements (projects)
  • Collects and coordinates information about global interests and requirements (products/trends in applications/logistics processes/customer developments/market of customer/commercial reports/forecasts etc.)
  • On request, the KAM also takes over the role of project manager for CAPEX projects.
  • Effective communication/exchange of information with the sales department for the area/office service
  • (Superordinate budget planning and sales monitoring)
  • Utilize sales tools provided.
  • Other duties as needed.

 

Work Schedule:

Incumbent should be flexible as some early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required as determined by business need. Some international travel may be required.

 

Essential Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven experience as key account manager
  • Experience in sales and providing solutions based on customer needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all

 

organizational levels

  • Ability in problem-solving and negotiation
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
  • Internet and E-Mail Proficiency.
  • Understanding of Microsoft office.
  • Knowledge of company’s mission, purpose, goals and the role of the employee in achieving them.
  • Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions.  (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need).
  • Must be highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and work well under pressure.

 

Qualification Standards:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Other qualifications may be identified as determined by the President or his/her designee.

The designated Manager may amend any of these standards based upon company requirement(s).

 

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility.
  • Move objects up to 100 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
  • Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with a meal break.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.  Ability to distinguish color to perform essential job functions.

 

Environmental Concerns:

  • Work is typically conducted in a temperature-controlled environment under fluorescent lighting.
  • May be subject to occasional exposure to outside environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, humidity).
  • May be exposed to operation of heavy equipment (i.e. forklift).
  • May be exposed to elevated noise level; hearing protection provided.

 

Performance Standards:

  • Meet deadlines accordingly.
  • Meet annual performance evaluation objectives.
  • Demonstrate commitment to high professional ethical standards.
  • Other standards as may be established during the natural course of employment.
  • Maintain the integrity of the ISO standard at all times.
