Now two more films on this topic are available. They explain how to replace two-piece PTFE/EPDM diaphragms.
In sterile, ultra pure and industrial applications, wearing parts such as diaphragms are replaced on a regular basis and generally as a preventative measure. Due to regular cleaning cycles, steam conditions and/or particulate working media in particular, a spare part must be replaced in good time before its functionality is reduced or it ceases to function altogether. The professional installation of two-piece diaphragms is accompanied by specific requirements. In the new videos, the sequence of individual steps is explained in detail using the example of GEMÜ 650 and GEMÜ 687.
Both tutorials focus on the diaphragm with the material code 5E. This has been used successfully for a number of years and consists of a PTFE face and an EPDM back. In the industrial sector, it is mainly used where high temperatures or maximum chemical resistance is required. With a 3A-compliant design, it is ideal for sterile and hygienic processes. In addition to GEMÜ 650 and 687, the diaphragm can also be used in 3A-versions of GEMÜ 601, 602, 605, 612, 625, 640, 653, 654, 658, 660, 673 and 688 in accordance with the standard 54-02.
