US Sanitary Standard. 
In 1920 three US associations issued the first standards for dairy pipe connections. These 3 Associations are IAMFES, UPH and DIC. From 1944 until today another 50 topics/specifications have been added to the rulebook which was originally only applied to dairy pipe connections and has been recognised by the US government as a standard for the dairy industry. 
The three responsible organisations are:
International Association of Milk, Food and Environmental Sanitarians.
United States Public Health Service/FDA.
The Dairy Industry Committee.
