Die Membrane GEMÜ Code 54 besteht aus einem PTFE-Schild und einem peroxidisch vernetzten EPDM-Rücken, die fest miteinander verbunden sind (vollkaschiert). Für stark diffundierende Medien ist auch ein FKM-Rücken erhältlich (GEMÜ Code 56). Die Membrane vereint dabei alle Vorzüge des Werkstoffes PTFE und die Flexibilität einer Elastomermembrane. Um das Gesamtsystem zu optimieren, werden sowohl das PTFE-Schild als auch der Membranrücken für GEMÜ compoundiert und innerhalb der GEMÜ Gruppe gefertigt.
