FMEDA ratings for GEMÜ products

During regular internal product and process reviews, it was determined that the previous description of SIL certification in the operating instructions for the following GEMÜ products could lead to misunderstandings.

  • GEMÜ R470 and R480 Victoria butterfly valves
  • GEMÜ 322, 324, and 326 pilot valves
  • GEMÜ 514, 530, 534, 550 and 554 globe valves
  • GEMÜ 605, 625 and 687 diaphragm valves

An FMEDA assessment was carried out for these products. This is not equivalent to full SIL certification. Accordingly, no SIL certificates are available for these products.

The FMEDA assessments carried out, which also include an architectural analysis of possible failures and their impact on functional safety, are decisive for the functional safety of the products and remain valid.
