Globally focused family-owned enterprise in its second generation
This globally focused independent family-owned enterprise was founded in 1964 by Fritz Müller and has become one of the top choices globally for process media control thanks to its range of innovative products and customized solutions.
As a family-owned enterprise, GEMÜ is now being led by the second generation of the family – Managing Partner Gert Müller and his cousin Stephan Müller.
Innovation and digitalization
The two Managing Directors of the GEMÜ Group, Gert Müller and Stephan Müller, prioritize innovation and have future-oriented plans for GEMÜ. To this end, as part of digitalization, a new department was created in 2022 – the Digital Transformation Unit (also known as the "DTU"). In order to efficiently drive forward digitalization, the DTU is continuously developing, motivated by the strong focus of providing customers with exceptional added value.
This aim is also shared by the new, platform-based modular product generation. Presented for the first time at the ACHEMA 2024 trade fair, with this new generation GEMÜ is writing an exciting new chapter as a forward-looking valve specialist that can meet the needs of its customers faster and more precisely than ever before.
Over 2500 employees worldwide
The Group currently employs over 2500 members of staff worldwide, over 1400 of whom are in Germany. Production takes place at eight locations: In addition to the two production sites in Germany, GEMÜ manufactures its products in Brazil, China, France, India, Switzerland and the USA. Their worldwide marketing is carried out across 25 subsidiaries, coordinated from Germany. Thanks to a large network of commercial partners, GEMÜ is now active in over 50 countries on all continents.
Continuous growth
The GEMÜ Group is continuously growing and invests regularly in the company's future. In 2013, for instance, a state-of-the-art Production and Logistics Centre was commissioned in Kupferzell, Germany, which combines the global flow of goods and guarantees fast supply to European customers.
Under the guidance of the Managing Partner Gert Müller, GEMÜ has undergone a restructuring process in 2017. Newly organized by business unit, the company has laid important foundations for even closer proximity to our customers and further growth.
The new production and administration building in Shanghai (China), which was completed in 2015, and the Surface Technology Center (OTZ) in the Hohenlohe Industrial Park (Germany), which opened in 2018, are also evidence of investments in future growth.
The technology company opened the new, state-of-the-art GEMÜ headquarters right next to it in 2024. With this new building, GEMÜ has constructed a modern office, creating additional synergies, providing employees with an attractive working environment and meeting the company's needs both now and in the future.
