GEMÜ is looking back on 60 years of company history. It all began with a process valve made from plastic. Since then, the company's history has been shaped by success and growth. Thanks to a company culture defined by innovation and solidarity, GEMÜ has overcome a number of challenges and setbacks – such as a devastating fire and flooding at the beginning of the 1990s – to develop into an internationally successful family-managed company. Today, the GEMÜ group is led by its second generation of managers from the same family, in the form of Gert Müller and his cousin Stephan Müller.

The first process valve was developed and produced by company founder Fritz Müller at his parents' house and in his garage. Today, GEMÜ is one of the world's leading manufacturers of valves, measurement and control systems and has been recognized multiple times for its innovations.

From the first patent to the complete technology firm

Even the very first product was able to make a significant impact on the market. Rather than being made of heavy metal, the process valve was manufactured from resistant plastic. Today, approximately 100 employees work on innovative products in the areas of research, development and design at the GEMÜ Dome development and innovation centre.
