Single-Use Valves

Single-Use Valves

Single-use valves are used if it is crucial to avoid cross contamination or if a simplified plant design is required. The GEMÜ product range comprises single-use diaphragm valves with manual or pneumatic actuators as well as single-use pinch valves.

With the single-use diaphragm valves, the valve body is disconnected from the actuator and disposed of after it is used once. In contrast, the actuator remains in the system for multiple use.

The single-use pinch valves have a secured retainer, into which the tube is inserted. The tube is then compressed from above by a compressor to control and regulate the medium being conveyed. Thanks to the specially developed contour of the compressor, the strain on the tube is minimized. This increases the service life of the tubes.

GEMÜ SUMONDO

Single-use diaphragm valve made of plastic, with pneumatic stainless steel or manual plastic actuator

Application examples

  • Media mixing
  • Fermentation
  • Cell harvesting
  • Purification
  • Filtration
  • Filling

GEMÜ SUHK SUMONDO

The GEMÜ SUHK manual operator of the GEMÜ SUMONDO single-use valve is joined to the valve body with a clamp. It is equipped with an internally welded diaphragm. The valve body and the actuator are locked with a defined opening and closing procedure. After a single use, the valve body and its diaphragm are removed from the actuator and disposed of. The actuator remains in the system and can be used multiple times.

GEMÜ SU40

The pneumatically operated GEMÜ SU40 actuator guarantees a high level of performance and a long service life thanks to its high-quality stainless steel components. The actuator is joined to the media wetted GEMÜ SUB unit, comprising a valve body and welded sealing diaphragm, by means of a clamp connection. After use, the media wetted GEMÜ SUB unit can easily be disconnected from the actuator and replaced. The actuator remains in the plant.

GEMÜ SU60

The GEMÜ SU60 electromotive hollow shaft actuator is based on brushless and sensorless technology and thus guarantees high performance and a long service life. The integrated positioner and process controller make it particularly suitable for variable and complex control applications in addition to OPEN/CLOSED applications.

The actuator is connected to the GEMÜ SUB wetted unit, consisting of valve body and welded-on sealing diaphragm, via a clamp connection.

GEMÜ Pinch Valves

Pneumatically or electromotive operated valve for OPEN / CLOSE and control applications in plastic or stainless steel / plastic design

Application examples

  • Chromatography
  • Media mixing
  • Fermentation
  • Cell harvesting
  • Purification
  • Filtration

GEMÜ Q30

The GEMÜ Q30 2/2-way pinch valve has a plastic piston actuator and is pneumatically operated. The valve guides a tube which is compressed from above by a compressor to control and regulate media. The compressor's specially developed contour and the tube holder's contour minimize the strain on the tube and thus increase the tubes' service life. Tubes can be safely inserted and removed in simple steps and without tools. The available control functions are "normally closed (NC)" and "normally open (NO)". An integral optical position indicator is standard.
