Setting the closing and opening limit for GEMÜ 653/654

Setting the closing and opening limit for GEMÜ 653/654

With a manually operated valve, the closing force is defined by the operator. Diaphragm valves with a metal valve body can be exposed to very high temperatures, depending on the diaphragm material. At high temperatures, the diaphragm is very soft and can be overloaded or even damaged by turning too heavily on the handwheel. The GEMÜ valves in particular have therefore been equipped with a travel stop for sterile and hygienic processes as standard. The video here explains how the travel stop is adjusted. The GEMÜ 654 and GEMÜ 653 types shown here can, for example, optionally be supplied with an opening limit as well (volumetric flow setting), which is why this setting is explained. If you change the diaphragm at a later point in time, you must once again check and, if necessary, readjust the closing and opening position. Further information and practical tips are provided by the GEMÜ training team in a number of training courses.
