Butterfly valve for controlling corrosive media: GEMÜ 490

Over the last few years, GEMÜ has further developed and expanded its "butterfly valve" product range. This has included the launch of the GEMÜ 490 – a metal butterfly valve with plastic liner and disc. The butterfly valve is already fitted with a TFM liner and PFA-encapsulated stainless steel disc as standard. TFM® is a further developed version of classic polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), whereby the tremendous properties of PTFE have been improved even further. The design of the butterfly valve, in particular the liner, shaft seal and backing, has been optimised with respect to actuation torques and increased tightness. The butterfly valve can be used with smaller actuators, which reduces purchase and operating costs. Thanks to its construction, it can also be used in potentially explosive areas. The butterfly valve is also suitable for use in temperatures up to 200 °C and has been approved in accordance with the TA Luft (German Clean Air Act) standard. For example, the GEMÜ 490 butterfly valve is used in the chemical industry, in mining, in metal extraction and the metallurgical and steel industries, as well as in the treatment of highly corrosive waste water and in the treatment and distribution of ultra pure water in pharmaceutical plants and in the semiconductor industry. Features, technical data and other information are explained in the product animation using sectional views.
